Coming from Manirathnam's stable is director Priya, who has completed her maiden venture Kanda Naal Mudhal and awaits its release with bated breath.

The movie produced by Prakashraj stars Prasanna,Laila and Vanam Vasapadum fame Karthik Kumar.

Speaking about her entry to films, Priya, who started her career as an actress on small screen says, 'all thanks to Suhasini madam. When I acted in a television mega serial directed by her, I developed a romance for direction.

When I told my desire to her, she introduced me to Manirathnam, who advised to study the profession well first. I then joined the film institute at Tharamani.'

Priya's first big screen venture was Indira directed by Suhasini Manirathnam. She worked as her assistant director. From then on, she became a regular member in Manirathnam's films.

On Kanda Naal Mudhal, she says, 'it was script writer Ramadoss who introduced me to Prakash. Impressed with the story I had, he accepted to produce a film to be directed by me.

Kanda Naal Muthal is a youthful entertainer with all commercial elements sure to enthrall masses'.
