Suryah may have become a star with New. But it seems the stars are working against him after that.

Close on the heels on the Madras High Court ordering the Censor Board to cancel the certification of S J Suryah's New for obscenity, another Court on Monday issued Non Bailable Warrant against the actor-director for allegedly attacking a Censor Board official.

Suryah's New witnessed protests from various quarters even when it was released last year. They had urged the cancellation of Censor Certification for the movie. But the film went on to become a hit.

Meanwhile a complaint was lodged by a Censor Board official alleging Suryah of attacking her when she refused to give certification for a song which he wanted to add in New.

The case came up for hearing before a Court in Chennai Monday and since Suryah was busy shooting for Kalvanin Kadhali, he could not be present on the court.

Hearing the whole issue, the Judge issued NBW on S J Suryah.When contacted the actor-director declined to comment.

He gave himself up at the Egmore police station today morning (23 August) and he was formally arrested.
