Cinematographer turned director Thangar Bachchan is known for his trenchant criticisms of Tamil filmdom and contemporary heroes.

He was true to type at the audio launch of his Chidambarathil Oru Appasamy held in Chennai on Friday.

Thangar, who plays the hero besides producing and directing the film said, 'it is ignorant on the part of heroes today in Tamil film industry to accept to play the hero in Chidambarathil Oru Appasamy. Hence with none coming forward, I played the hero in it. '

Brooding over Tamil and its rich culture being neglected, he said the industry has become a slave to the heroes.

Going further ahead, Thangar ridiculed the recent blockbuster Anniyan and said the movie has nothing in it to be boasted so much.

Director Seeman also launched a scathing attack on the contemporary actors and directors.

The audio was released by director Bharathiraja and was received by Balu Mahendra.
