Jeyam Ravi has one pet peeve.
He doesn't like being branded. But he is seen as the raja of remakes.
'I don't like myself to be branded as a remake actor', pleads Jeyam Ravi.
'My Daas released recently is not a Telugu remake and is doing a brisk business', he says.
But he also doesn't like to think that remakes are easy to make.
'Doing remakes is no easy job. It needs more homework and the story needs to be altered to suit the local audience', he adds.
Denying any involvement of his brother director Raja in Daas, Ravi said the movie belonged completely to director Babu Yogeswaran and my dad (editor Mohan) and my brother listened to the story and gave a go ahead for me to act', he says.
On his forthcoming ventures, Ravi says 'after Daas, I have Mazhai for release followed by Idhaya Thirudan. Later, I am to act opposite Trisha for a movie to be directed by my brother again.'
On taking to action in Daas, Ravi says, 'It was not a conscious decision to switch over to action. It just occurred. However I want myself to be a actor who can perform any role with aplomb'.
