Arjun is happy wielding the megaphone for the film Madarasi as it marks the entry of Tollywood actor and his close friend Jagapathi Babu into Kollywood.
And he is extremely careful that this should not be a run-of-the-mill movie. "Madarasi is not like my regular patriotic films.
The movie is all about underworld dons and the entire story happens in Mumbai's Dharavi area, where Tamils live in large number'.
Asked whether Madarasi is inspired by Manirathnam's blockbuster Nayagan, Arjun says a big 'no'.
"If you cross the Vindhyas, every south Indian be it from Andhra Pradesh or Karnataka, is called as Madarasi only. My movie is inspired by this".
Jagapathi Babu playing the lead role says, "though I have made it big in Andhra Pradesh, I wanted to try my luck in Tamil. It is Chennai where I grew up. Now with Madarasi, my desire is fulfilled".
With two friends at the helm, the film had better succeed.
