Playback singers trying their luck in acting is nothing new in Kollywood. The likes of T M Soundarajan, S P Balasubramaniam, Malayasia Vasudevan, Mano have had various degrees of success in acting.

The latest addition to this list is Harish Raghavendra, who is currently playing the hero in a movie titled Karpanai. He has already played the hero in a film named Vikatan that was produced by Arun Pandian.

Meanwhile, another young singer has been in demand as an actor.

Karthik, the young playback singer who is now the toast of Kollywood after a string of hits, is being regularly approached by production houses to play the lead in their movies.

However the actor has reportedly declined the offer saying that his priority is singing and acting is only secondary for him.
