The summer in Chennai is atrocious. Even the desert camels would think twice before coming to Chennai.

With the situation being so bad, will the privileged stay back? No, they won't. They have literally taken wings.

Many Tamil film directors, who have made it mandatory to go abroad to shoot song sequences, have taken off to cooler climes to spend their vacation.

A host of directors are now in trendy, spiffy locations, away from the broiling dusty, hazy heat of Chennai.

Director Sundar C, who has completed his Chinna, is in Malaysia to spend the summer with his family, while director Vikraman is off to USA to spend the vacation there.

Director Manirathnam and his wife Suhasini Manirathnam are in Russia, taking in the culture and history of the place.

Not to be left behind, actor Vijay had been to London recently and spent about a couple of weeks before resuming the shooting for his next Sivakasi.

And Vikram, once his Anniyan is released, is planning a break in the US in June.
