The movie-loving public of Tamil Nadu are lapping up Kamal Haasan's "Mumbai Xpress". However, "Chandramukhi" still holds sway.

1. "Chandramukhi": (Director P. Vasu) When a film involving a super-star is released, it has to be number one, so say Rajni's fans. The initial response to a Rajni film is always overwhelming and only later does one come to know whether the film is a hit or not. But people liked the story of the film, a straight lift from the Malayalam classic "Manichitrathazhu".

2. "Mumbai Xpress": (Director Singeetham Srinivasa Rao) This comedy flick from the Kamal-Singeetham combination cannot be termed a classic like the silent movie "Pushpak", but the film does elicit lots of laughs.

3. "Sachin": (Director John Mahendran) A different Vijay film. For the last few years, Vijay has been following the same pattern of action and violence in all his films. However, "Sachin" is a simple love story. Though the story has been told and retold many times, John's treatment and Vijay's acting make the film worth watching.

4."Ram": (Director Ameer) Despite three releases studded with super-stars on at the theatres "Ram" continues among the top five. It is a victory for director Ameer.
