Director Perarasu, following the success of Thirupachi combines with Vijay again for Sivakasi.

The movie produced by A M Rathnam of Sri Surya Movies would be a Deepavali entertainer.

Perarasu says, "after seeing my Thirupachi, producer A M Rathnam called me to his office and gave me a pleasant surprise saying that I should do a movie for Vijay in his banner. I narrated a story to Rathnam which impressed him immediately".

Sivakasi is a real-life story. It was the troubles and travails encountered by my friend in his youthful days. Vijay will don an action hero in the movie that would be quite different from his earlier films.

"Prakashraj will be playing the villain while I would be penning the story, screenplay and dialogues besides penning all the songs.

I am planning to even compose the musical scores myself for the movie", says Perarasu.
