Director Shankar always has a penchant for grandeur.

All his movies have been big-budgeted ones with extraordinary visuals. His latest Anniyan seems no different from his usual style of going for things big.

For the climax stunt featuring Vikram, Shankar has shot a sequence with over 240 cameras and shot in different locations. The total budget to shoot just the climax stunt alone has run to nearly Rs. two crores.

Shankar thinks the whole effort would be worth it. He also feels that it is not done for mere effect or exemplify his show-boat skills. The whole fight, it is said, is very intrinsic to the essential story and its treatment.

Though it may look huge by Indian standards, it is pittance by Hollywood levels. And it is Hollywood that always inspires Shankar.

In fact, special stuntmen from Hollywood took part in the stunt sequence. The movie has been made at a total cost of 27 crore.

Hope producer Oscar Ravichandran gets it back.
