Director Murugadoss is known for churning out movies inspired by current affairs that happen around us.

His Ramana was about the canker of corruption that afflicts our society.

Murugadoss is now busy with Ghajini starring Surya and Asin.

Like in his previous film, Murugadoss has taken a socially relevant theme.

He said the movie is all about emancipation of womenfolk.

Going further ahead, Murugadoss has penned Asin's character inspired by Kalpana Chawla, the Indian astronaut who was killed in the Challenger rocket blast.

Though there is nothing about any rocket scientist or astronaut in the film, Murugadoss has named his heroine Kalpana. He says Asin's character is as gutsy as the original after which she has been named

Paying tributes to a doughty girl in his own way.
