Suriya`s Massu` has taken a great opening at the Box Office and has made the team happy with the response from the audience. At this juncture rumors are doing the rounds that the film was denied tax benefits because of derogatory dialogues about the Sri Lankan Tamils.

Director Venkat Prabhu has taken to Twitter to clarify on the matter saying that there are absolutely no dialogues in the film which show the Sri Lankan`s in bad light and in fact the film is being very well-received in US, UK, Canada, Malaysia and Singapore where there are a majority of Srilankan Tamils.

In his response, Venkat Prabhu further added that if at any point there were any instances of derogatory remarks on Sri Lankan Tamils, there would have been a response during the First Day First Show itself, since the movie had been released first in those countries where many Sri Lankan Tamilians live. But there has been no such issues. In addition, Venkat also said that it was his Sri Lankan Tamil friends who are settled in London who helped him with the film's dialogues.

The dialogue in question is the villain asks Shakthi (Father Suriya) “Nee Ceylonaa`? to which Shakthi replies “Tamilandaa...Na Sontha Manna Parkikuduthuttu Thanaku Oru Adaiyalamillama intha ulakathil Eatho oru mulayil vazhnthu konduirukira avanoda vali Ennaendru Theriuma unakku?`
