Rajnikanth has an appeal that goes far beyond the narrow confines of his Tamil Nadu borders.
His films have done well in Telugu. They have been successes in Hindi. Well, they have found favor among the public in Japan, too.
But what about the State from which he originally hailed? Karnataka, too, always had a special liking for him though he had moved elsewhere.
Rajnikanth's movies Dalapathy and Muthu were remade in Kannada as Annavaru and Sarukara and both the movies had a stupendous run.
So there is demand for more.
Now the Kannada producers are camping in Chennai to procure the remake rights of a few Rajnikanth starrers to be made in Kannada now. The big beneficiary now is K Balachander's Kavithalaya, which had produced many movies of Rajnikanth in the past.
The movies including Naan Magan Illai, Nettrikan, Puthu Kavithai have been procured for remake in Kannada filmdom.
Success is success in any language. Rajni is a good example of that.
