Back in 2009, Director Suseendhran made his debut with Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu`, which went on to become a commercial and critical success establishing him as one of the leading directors of Tamil cinema. Even though Suseendran went on to direct hit films like Naan Mahan Alla, Pandiya Naadu, Adhalal Kadhal Silver and Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai his first film remains his favorite to this day.

Suseendran has decided to make a sequel to Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu` which will have as hero, Lakshmi Narayanan, who played Vishnu`s friend in the original. While the heroine is yet to be finalized, the rest of the cast of the original are expected to return , however Suseendran is not going to direct as he is busy with his Vishal project and so it is his assistant Sekar who is going to helm the sequel which is set to begin on the 23rd of April.
