Devi the dubbing and stage actress has filed her nomination for the President post. She said that she has been a member since 1974. Her opposition to Vijaykanth was not on the ground that he had not done any good for the Nadigar Sangham but on the ground that Vijaykanth was a busy actor and had no time for the organization. She is an active member of AIADMK. She pointed out that her party leader was a supporter of 33% reservation of electoral seats for women. She was confident of winning since drama artistes outnumbered film actors. Meanwhile Mansoor Ali Khan went on a fast since his nomination was rejected on the ground that he had not paid the fees for nomination. He said it was to pinpoint the activities of the manager who was doing things without the knowledge of Vijaykant. “ I am a firm follower of Vijaykanth” says Mansoor.
