Born and brought up in Hindi-speaking environment, and based in and out in Bollywood, Sonakshi has stepped out of her comfort zone to touch the rolling troughs and crests of South India, and also master it. Sonakshi is lauded by the 'Lingaa' team, not only for her performance, but also her tongue. The actress has gone a long way in perfecting her Tamil lines so much, that everybody is in awe with her dedication for her debut.

Chinmayee, who has dubbed for Sonakshi in 'Lingaa' has also credited the actress in high regard for her performance, and especially her language skills. The singer posted her praises on her social network. "It is amazing how Sonakshi has rendered her lines. It is hard to believe that she is making her debut in Tamil, and is all new to the language. In fact, she is so perfect that she could have gone on to dub for herself; only set back will be that she will not sound like a native. But she still has a great opportunity, if the project is urbane based" Chinmayee said.

Elaborating further on her 'Lingaa' experience, Chinmayee said "Since 'Sivaji', this is the first time that I have not had the opportunity to sing in the album of a Superstar movie; that was because I was travelling when recording was underway, so I had to miss the opportunity. But I have made up for it by dubbing" she beams.
