The team Kaththi` had faced numerous issues prior to the release of the movie and one being them is plagiarism. Gopi, who claims that the Kaththi` story was penned by him and A.R. Murugadoss has promised to produce the movie under his banner with Ajith in the lead and later dropped it without any reason. Over the last few days, Gopi had given multiple interviews and said that he will go ahead with the case and proves a point. In a sudden turn of events, Gopi seems to have withdrawn the case and a press release from Murugadoss`s camp has confirmed the same.
The appeals viz., AS Nos. 374 & 375/2014 filed by Mr. Gopi as against the order dated 25/09/2014 passed by the XIII Assistant City Civil Court dismissing O.S.No. 2155/2014 filed by Mr. Gopi to injunction the production/ release of the film KATHI came for arguments before the XVII Additional City Civil Court today i.e. 11/11/2014. “When the matter was taken up for hearing, rather than arguing the matter, Mr. Gopi appeared in person along with his counsel and withdrew the appeals filed by him. It was then pointed out on our behalf that Mr. Gopi has indulged in frivolous and vexatious litigation and that Mr. Gopi will have to be directed to pay the cost for indulging in frivolous and vexatious litigation. The learned XVII Additional City Civil Court Judge upon hearing our arguments dismissed the appeals filed by Mr. Gopi today as withdrawn and has further directed Mr. Gopi to pay Rs.1, 000/- as cost to legal aid.”
Gopi has not announced why he backed off from the case and an insider says that a clear picture will emerge in a day or two.
Meanwhile, Indiaglitz tried contacting Gopi, but at the moment he is not willing to clear the air and we guess that he will open up in a few days time.
