Samantha might be a top heroine in Tollywood, but being a Tamil girl, she hasn't gotten that a big name in Kollywood so far. Her movies in K Town weren't a commercial success, unlike her super hits in Telugu. She expected a lot from Gautham Menon's Nee Thaane En Pon Vasantham, but it was a let down and as she saw success in Tollywood, she concentrated there. She came back with Surya's Anjaan, which was a big let down for her.

Samantha is currently counting on the success of AR Murugadoss' Kathhthi starring Ilayathalapathy Vijay. This movie is composed for by Anirudh and is all set for a big Diwali release. She is also acting in Vikram's Pathu Enradukule after this and if Kaththi is a success, her long dreamt of Stardom will be attained in Kollywood. She has also joined the race to act in an upcoming Ajith film for which Hansika is her main competition at the moment. All of this depends on the success and fame Kaththi might or might not bring her. Let's wait and watch.
