It was expected to be a low-key affair. But actor Dhanush and Rajnikanth's daughter Aishwarya's wedding turned out to be a star-studded affair with Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa leading the list of guests.

Of course, there were absentees too. DMK chief M Karunanidhi, once said to be close to Rajni, was conspicuous by his no show.

But Rajni's close friends including Kamal Haasan, Ilayaraja, A V M Saravanan, Shatrugan Sinha, Hema Malini were at hand. Of course, his mentor K Balachandar was the cynosure of all eyes.

A typical Brahmin wedding, the marriage witnessed Aishwarya in a Madisar besides nalangu and other rituals being performed on the occasion.

Others who graced the occasion included Bhagiyaraj, Manirathinam, S P Muthuraman, Selvaraghavan, music directors Deva and Shankar Ganesh, actors Prabhu, Ram Kumar, Y G Mahendra, M N Nambiar, Sathyaraj, Bollywood actor Amrish Puri and actresses Sonia Agrawal and Meena.

The wedding reception is slated for tomorrow.
