Malayalam actor Jayasurya, who acted made his debut in Tamil with En Mana Vanil and followed it with a guest role in Kamal Haasan's Vasoolraja MBBS, is making his re- entry in Tamil as hero with the movie titled Manidan.

The homely Meena will star opposite Jayasurya. Ilayaraja will be scoring music for the movie.

Veteran cinematographer Nivas is directing the film. Nivas, who had once worked with seniors like Bharathi Raja and Vishwanath, is a very old hand in Kollywood. Nivas had cranked the camera for films - 16 Vayadhinilae, Kallukul Eeram, Salangai Oliu, Illamai Onchaladukirathu and Kizhakae Pogum Rayil.

About Manidan, Nivas, says, "it's the story of a youth who is caught between love and lust".

The shooting would commence 22 November and would be ready for Valentines Day.

Thalaivasal Vijay is also in the cast.
