After having made an unshakable name for himself in Indian cinema, mega director Shankar set foot in production. However, he had kept his production house plans on hold for a while, but his assistant Karthik has broken the jinx now. Karthik worked as Shankar's assistant in Superstar movies 'Sivaji' and 'Enthiran', and has now set out to make his directorial debut with 'Kappal' starring Vaibhav, Sonam and Karunakaran. Work on the full length comedy flick is over, and Karthik played the movie to his mentor and guru, Shankar, who was impressed with the Karthik's work and the way the film has shaped up.

Shankar further came to know that the 'Kappal' crew is awaiting an interested buyer to have the film released, and the budding director is shocked and surprised that Shankar, himself stepped forward to acquire the film for a good sum and release it under his banner. As revealed by Karthik, the film is likely to hit the screens within the next two months.
