Jothika celebrated her birthday on October 17th at The Park hotel in Chennai.

She had invited her film friends over to shake a leg at the nightclub Pasha. Suryah was a co host and everyone who came to wish her also had a query. `When are you both getting married?' A shy Jothika said that she was planning to announce it on February 14th (Valentines Day). The film `Mayavi’ too is to be released on the same day. The public announcement would boost the attraction of the film.

When Vijay had suggested Jothika for Thirupachi the producer who approached her was told that she had decided not to accept any film because she was going to get married. The second choice was Trisha.

Sonia Agarwal- Selvaraghavan, Vijay, Kushboo- Sundar and many others turned up for the birthday bash.
