Srikanth turns a Producer with 'Samiyattam'

Actor Srikanth who was last seen in the moderately successful comic caper Paagan has launched his own production company Golden Friday Films to produce one of his upcoming films titled Saamiyattam.
The film starring Srikanth in the lead role also marks the comeback of director Mithran R. Jawahar who has directed Yaradi Nee Mohini and a few more successful Telugu remakes with Dhanush in the lead role. Saamyiattam is also the remake of Telugu hit film Swamy Ra Ra.
The story is about the burglary of an ancient Ganesha idol and the idols travel. The story has been narrated from the view of the idol which will be unique and interesting. The team assures that the film will be filled with comedy and fun elements and there wont be an iota of violence, vulgarity and tearjerkers.
Srikanth, popular VJ Pooja and Murugadoss act as a gang of petty thieves and they are lead characters. The Ganesha idol gets into the hands of the gang and what they do is expected to offer oodles of fun.
A Mumbai based newcomer has been roped in to play the love interest of Srikanth.
Music for Saamiyattam is being scored by Shravan who has composed 400 ad jingles. The audio track will include five songs written by lyricist Viveka and others.
Cinematography has been entrusted to Gopi Jagadeeshwaran while Editing will be done by Thiyagarajan.
The film will be shot in Chennai and Pondicherry. 10 days of shoot has been completed and plans or on to finish the film as a quickie.
