Actor Vemal is keeping is fingers crossed over Manjapai that is going to hit the screens this Friday (June 6). The Pasanga actor is highly confident about the success of Manjapai directed by Naveen Raghavan, a former assistant of Sarkunam who gave Kalavani which is Vemals biggest hit in his career so far.
The film reportedly explores the relationship between a Grandfather played by Rajkiran and his grandson played by Vemal. Lakshmi Menon considered as a lucky mascot with back to back hits is pairing up with Vemal for the first time. The film comes with the backing of a prestigious Thirrupathi Brothers banner.
Vemal likens Manjapai to director Fazils classic film Poove Poochudava in which veteran actress Padmini and Nadhiya acted as grandmother and granddaughter. He assures that the film will make a viewer remember his/her grandfather.
Vemal has also revealed his decision to act in scripts that suit his ability, which means he will henceforth act only in rural subjects and urban subjects set in a middle class milieu. He admits that people do not accept him in sophisticated and stylish roles.
