Awards galore for 'Raja Rani'

Director Atlee’s debut film ‘Raja Rani’ was one of the most successful and critically acclaimed films of 2013. The film that had Arya, Nayanthara, Jai and Nazriya in lead roles was dubbed in Telugu recently and the dubbed version was also commercially successful thanks to the universality of its content.

Apart from raking in the moolah for the producers, the film that had equal dosage of romance, emotions and comedy, has been receiving many awards.

In the prestigious Edison Awards ceremony Nayanthara received the Best Actress award for her performance in ‘Raja Rani’. Atlee received the ‘Best Debut Film Director’ award and G.V.Prakash received the award for Best Background Score’ for the FOX Star Studios and A.R.Murugadoss Production venture.

The film also received the ‘Most Popular’ film of 2013 in the recently concluded Norway Film Festival.

Now the latest glorification for ‘Raja Rani’ has come in the form of award for the ‘Best Film’ (People’s choice) in the ‘Golisoda Cine Awards’ instituted by a famous FM channel. The award has been handed over to the film’s director Atlee recently.
