Vijay’s ‘Kaththi’ has been shot in many major cities including Chennai, Kolkata and Hyderabad. Suriya’s ‘Anjaan’ has been shot extensively in Mumbai. On the contrary Ajith’s 55th film that is being directed by Gautham Menon will not be moving to other cities.

A source close to the film has revealed to Indialgitz that the A.M.Ratnam’s Sri Satya Sai Movies production venture will be shot entirely in Chennai except for a Air craft scene which may be shot in a foreign location.

The first schedule that began on April 11 lasted for 12 days. The next schedule will begin on May 14. In the mean time Gautham and the film’s composer Harris Jayaraj have recorded a song and some portions of that song have been shot already. This song will be on the film’s lead heroine Anushka. A couple of weeks ago, Indiaglitz had reported that Harris will be introducing a fresh voice from UK for a song in the film. And now we have come to know that the UK based singer has rendered this song for Ajith 55.

The source also revealed that there has been a lull in experimentation with regards to songs since Guatham and Harris did not work together for almost six years. This will be compensated in the film marking their reunion. The director-composer duo has decided to include many experimental aspects in the songs of Ajith 55.

The name of the character played by Ajith in the film will be ‘Sathya Dev’. Since, the director had revealed in an earlier interview that the name of the character played by Ajith in the film may be fixed as the film’s title, speculations were rife that Ajith 55 may be titled as ‘Sathya’ or ‘Sathya Dev’.

Our source confirmed that the title of the film will be fixed as ‘Sathya’ provided the team manages to get the permission from actor Kamal Haasan to use the title. The veteran actor acted and produced a movie with the same title in 1988. Even if the permission is successfully obtained to use the title, ‘Sathya’ will be retained for Tamil version only. The Telugu version will have a different title since many films have released with the same title in Tollywood industry.

Another interesting aspect about the film is that Gautham has decided to cast many new faces in supporting roles of the film. We can say, this film will bring many new acting talents for Tamil cinema.
