Director Ram’s ambitious project ‘Thangameengal’ was initially bankrolled by Gautham Menon who sold it later to Sathish of JSK Corporation who ensured the release of the film.

The news about ‘Thangameengal’ winning The National Award for the Best Tamil film reached Gautham when he was in the sets calling shots for Ajith in the actor’s 55th film that is being produced by A.M.Ratnam under Sri Satya Sai Movies banner.

Ajith after hearing the news stood up and gave a standing ovation as a gesture of congratulating Gautham for the National level recognition. The whole unit joined him in applauding the director.

This has been revealed by Gautham in a recent interview. Gautham stated that he sold ‘Thangameengal’ to JSK Films when it was not possible for him to release the film. He has also conveyed his congratulations for director Ram who he considers as a good friend.
