The Telugu filmdom and Bollywood has decided to enforce a boycott of Kannada filmdom. Artistes, technicians of other languages will not work in Kannada films. Similarly Kannada artistes and technicians will not be employed in other languages. The Film federation has decided to this effect. South Indian film chamber of Commerce based in Chennai has along with Tamil film producers council supported this move but refrained from making it public since the elections to the Karnataka Film Chamber is due. The other language filmdom hopes to oust the Dr Rajkumar lobby, which are behind the seven-week delay of non-Kannada films in Karnataka.

Arjun, Murali, Ramya (kuthu), Rakshitha, Bhawana , Prema, Kaushalya, Chaya Singh, Kutty Radhika and Shereen are some of the artistes who will be affected. Ramya has signed a Hindi film opposite John Abraham and Aftab Shivadasni. Rakshitha who was to sign two Telugu films has been dropped.
