Following the Tamil re- make of Hindi blockbuster Bhoot as Shock, actor-director Thiyagarajan is set to venture to his next project which again is a remake of a recent Hindi film Khakee starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan and Aishwarya Rai in the lead roles.

The movie directed by Raj Kumar Santhoshi is now being churned out in Tamil as Police by Thiyagarajan. Prashanth dons the role of a honest policeman in it.

Speaking about the venture, Thiyagarajan says, ‘Khakhee is all about the travails of a honest police officer narrated in a excellent manner. When I saw the movie, I decided immediately to do it in Tamil. The movie has a huge star cast including Athul Kulkarni, Shayaji Shinde, Ashish Vidyarthy, Delhi Ganesh, Lakshmi and Kousalya.

Former Miss Universe Lara Dutta appears for a peppy number’.

Asked about his role, Prashanth says, ‘I have been assigned to play a strict police officer in the movie. In order to give my best, I have decided to visit the Police Training Academy at Meerut near Mumbai and watch closely how policemen are being trained there. Our earlier venture, Shock received a very good response from the audience. We hope to recreate the same in Police’.

Besides producing, Thiyagarajan has written the screenplay, dialogues and wields the megaphone for Police too. He adds, ‘doing remakes is never an easy job. We strive to give our best in this movie.

The shooting would begin this October and it would be shot in Mysore, Vishakapatnam, Kudraemukh and adjoining places. A couple of stunt sequences would be shot in Spain , Greece and Italy’.

M V Pannerselvamn would handle the cinematography while music would be taken care of by Ramesh Sethi and stunts by Dinesh.
