Noted Tamil film actor Ajith Kumar sustained injuries this morning during the shoot of a stunt sequence for his forthcoming film G at a village near Kumbakonam. He was attended to by doctors immediately and after a brief rest, resumed shooting. Fans thronged the spot in large numbers on hearing the news .

Ajith, also a motor sport-enthusiast, is now doing three films, including G directed by Lingusamy and produced by NIC Arts Chakravarthy. The shooting for the film has been on for sometime near Kumbakonam.

This morning, as part of a stunt sequence, a tray was to be thrown at the actor and he was to move away from it. But, call it 'mistiming' or an error of judgement, the tray hit him on forehead, resulting in bleeding injuries. He was immediately taken to a caravan at the shooting spot and doctors were rushed in to give him first-aid. After an hour's rest, he resumed work. Ajith is currently busy with a couple of other movies too -- Attagasam directed by Saran and Mirrattal directed by Murugadoss.

In G, he plays the role of a student leader taking on politicians who exploit student force to capture power. Talking about the incident,Ajith's wife and actress Shalini said, 'he sustained a minor injury while shooting this morning. It's nothing serious. After first-aid, he was back to shooting'. Ajith Kumar, who made his debut in Amaravathy decade ago, has acted in over 50 films and established himself as a front line actor in Kollywood. His passion for motor sports sees him doing a fine balancing act, too, vrooming off to the world of race cars from the tinsel world. Currently, competing in the British F3 Scholarship class, he has managed a podium finish in a couple of races.
