The impetus behind the magnum opus feature film Kochadaiiyaan - The Legend starring superstar Rajinikanth and the reigning Deepika Padukone, stems from the grand vision of its director Soundarya Rajnikanth Ashwin whos aim was to immortalise her off-screen father, and on-screen icon Rajinikanth for his adoring fans.
"My ambition has always been to immortalise my father and bring the legendary Rajinikanth that audiences around the world adore in an avatar he hasnt been seen or experienced in ever before," remarked Soundarya.
In addition to her directorial duties, insiders say that prior to the filming schedule, Soundarya undertook extensive training in motion capturing photorealistic technology to fully understand the process herself.
She has been involved in film animation techniques and production for the last six years and for Kochadaiiyaan she wanted to do something unique and decided to introduce Motion Capture technology which was never attempted in its full band-with in India before.
She continues by saying: "Through the use of this path-breaking technology, I have been able to have unlimited creativity on all grounds. I was also able to de-age certain characters including my father and it was a delight to see him on screen as I remembered him when I was growing up. By incorporating some of the technological innovations as seen in major Hollywood productions into Kochadaiiyaan allowed me to bring my fathers performance and persona up to speed with the current generation of filmgoers who may not be aware of my fathers repertoire of work."
Mediaone Global Entertainment Limited and Eros International 's Kochadaiiyaan - The Legend is set to transcend boundaries and break records, creating a market first in world cinema and cementing Indian Cinemas place forever within the global film fraternity.
