It is no big secret as to who is Ulaga Nayagan's mentor. The man who has moulded the whole of Kollywood to an interesting bunch of audience, has also crafted the career of Kamal Hassan to such great heights, mentoring him to fame - we are talking about the legendary director K Balachandar. Launching the trailer of 'Ninaithale Inikkum' in Sathyam theatres yesterday, Balachandar said "I feel Kamal is a much better director than I am, and am proud of him.

He would go places with his talent." In response, Kamal Hassan thanked Balachandar and said "In the initial stages of my career, I had wanted to become a director. But it was Balachandar who made me stick to the front of the camera, and I am happy that I listened to him back then. Now, it is a great honour that he has recognised my directorial skills. My long term wish is to put Balachandar in front of the camera and direct him, and that will happen soon." The actor further added "After 'Ninaithale Inikkum, I and Rajinikanth decided not to act together. We are glad we made the decision, otherwise we would not have come this far."
