For a film belonging to socio-political genre, 'Satyagraha' is enjoying the biggest release ever. It is all set to hit over 2500 screens today, hence being equivalent to recently released massy flick 'Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbaai Dobaara' and quite close to some of the biggest Bollywood releases ever.
Confirms Gaurav Verma, Director - India Theatrical Distribution, Studios, Disney-UTV, "Yes, 'Satyagraha' is releasing across 2500 screens all over India. Advance tickets sales of the film are very encouraging. Also, booking trends from across India indicate a strong Friday for the film."
The film's massive release is understandable, considering the fact that it has a A-plus starcast comprising of Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Manoj Bajpayee. Enjoying the status of a true multistarrer, it has a lot riding on it, hence drawing encouraging response from distributors and exhibitors who are ecstatic with the booking trends so far.
"The advance booking at Delite Cinema, Delhi, is more than 3 lakhs for weekend only. This is my personal opinion that 'Satyagraha' will create history at the box office and will also garner tremendous appreciation from the audience," said Sanjay Ghai, COO Mukta Movies Distributors.
Punit Sahay, GM Spice Noida, added, "The advance booking is excellent for 'Satyagraha' and we are positive that the film will do extremely well over the weekend."
With the film which is 'of the junta' and 'for the junta', this Prakash Jha directed affair could well turn out to be 'Raajneeti' of 2013.
