Director Sekar Kammula is wielding the megaphone for the remake of the sensational Bollywood film, 'Kahaani'. Starring Nayanthara in the lead, 'Anaamika' is a Telugu-Tamil bilingual remake of the Hindi film 'Kahaani', and the director has altered the original storyline to suit the South Indian tastes. Tell tale of South India, the film will have an item song, which is not part of the package in Hindi.

Priya Mani, who is basking in the glory of her item number with Bollywood Badshah SRK, has been roped in to do this item number too. Though the news has not been officially declared yet, talks are underway and it is almost confirmed. Retaining the baseline from 'Kahaani', that the movie is heroine centric, 'Anaamika' will have Nayanthara doing the lead role, with minor alterations to suit the South Indian flavour. The film is currently shooting at a rapid pace.
