Dhanush has signed up for a film with director Sarkunam titled "Sotta Vazhakutty". The latest update is that the title of the film is to be "Naiyandi" and not what was announced earlier. Also, the search for the heroine has been on for some time now. Names like Amala Paul, Samantha and Hansika were spoken about for the role while the movie was going through pre production. Now, the director has finalised the lead female role.

Nazriya Nazim is the one. She is currently working on her debut in Tamil, "Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah" with Jai which is produced by Aascar V Ravichandran. She also appears in a Malayalam and Tamil film named "Neram". When asked about this, Sarkunam said, "Yes, we are currently in talks with Nazriya but we have not signed her up yet. Everything will be confirmed in two days’ time."

The shoot for "Naiyandi" is to begin in February. This rural comedy entertainer was pushed back to now because Dhanush had his hands full with Bharat Bala's "Mariyaan" and his Hindi debut "Raanjhnaa". Dhanush's latest tweet said, "Starting Sargunam's film from Feb 2nd week.It will be an out and out commercial entertainer.Cant wait to do some comedy."
