Seems like this Pongal has films lined up for its release. With Vishwaroopam postponed in its release the following films are scheduled to hit the screens for Pongal.

Alex Pandian

Directed by Suraaj, the film has Karthi, Anushka and Santhanam doing the lead roles for which DSP has composed the numbers. Coming under the banner of Studio Green, the film is slated for a worllwide release on the 11th of January in more than 850 screens.

Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya

A hilarious treat laced with romance is all its way to burst out on the 13th of January.The film distributed by Udhaynidhi Stalin's 'Red Giant Movies' is scheduled for a worldwide release over 275 screens. 'Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya', under Santhanam's pioneer production venture is directed by Manikandan starring Santhanam, Powerstar Sreenivasan, Sethu and Vishaka in the lead roles. Thaman has scored up for this comedy caper which is expected to be a real entertainer to the audience.

Samar

After various hard stones and chaos, the film is slated for its release for Pongal, on the 13th of January clearing all its financial bridles. Samar, starring Vishal, Trisha and Sunaina in the lead roles is directed by Thiru which is an action flick.

Puthagam

Directed by Vijay Adhiraj of the small screen fame, the film 'Puthagam' is his maiden venture into direction. The film starring Sathya, Rakul Preetha Singh and Sanjay Bharathi is releasing on the 14th of January. The songs are composed for by James Vasanthan.

Vijayanagaram

Vijayanagarm is a film directed by Thanveer starring Sivan and Hasika in lead roles. The film is slated for its release on Pongal.
