Kamal Haasan's project Vishwaroopam continues to face problems with its release in Chennai. After announcing the simultaneous DTH release, the film was opposed by theatre owners across Tamil Nadu with several bodies refusing to permit the film to go out. But now it appears that popular multiplexes in Chennai will be screening the film from January 11th.

Sathyam Cinemas, Devi Multiplex, Inox and Escape will be some of the few theatres the movie will be releasing in. To urge the rest of the owners to join in, Kamal Haasan has stated that the DTH idea is a new business model and will not affect the profit of theatre owners in any way. However, it is yet to be seen whether his words will make any difference this weekend. Up until now, it appears that the movie can only be caught on DTH and the above mentioned theatres in Chennai. The rest of India, leaving out Tamil Nadu, should have better options. So if you want to catch the movie soon, start looking for tickets now!
