The latest romantic release by Gautham starring Jiiva and Samantha did not get the expected response from the audience. At least not as much as "Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya" and "Vaaranam Aayiram". The downer was higher because the film did create a lot of hype within the audience before it's release with its music and remarkable trailers. The actual film wasn't what we expected. The magic of Gautham Menon was supposedly missing in this film. The basic complaint was that the movie was a little slow and dragged in some sequences.

In answer to this, director Gautham Menon has decided to trim away the offending 10 minutes from "Neethane En Ponvasantham". Therefore, the film is now running in all theaters for a length of 143 minutes only! We hope that this removal of ten minutes will be a turnabout for the film.
