Though director Shankar is a name to associate with grand movies, he always bats for simple and straight forward films. Even his production ventures reflected simplicity a lot.

His penchant for meaningful attempts in low budget came out in open once again, during the audio launch of Santhanam's maiden production venture 'Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya'.

Speaking on the occasion, Shankar said that the three recent movies he liked a lot were 'Kalakalappu', 'Oru Kal Oru Kannadi' and 'Naduvula Konjam Pakkathai Kaanom'.

"I watched these movies repeatedly and enjoyed them a lot. They are novel and refreshing," said the 'mega director', who is currently busy with 'I' starring Vikram.
