Over 50 persons were arrested on Monday for staging a protest in front of actress Sona's residence at Teyanmapet in Chennai, for her reported remarks against men.
Led by advocate Arulthumilan, the agitators raised slogans against Sona and demanded an apology from her for her comments in one of her recent interviews.
The police rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the protesters. Since they refused to calm down, they were arrested and taken to a community hall nearby. They were let off in the evening.
A Tamil magazine quoted the actress-producer as saying that she used men like 'tissue paper'. However, Sona denied making any such remarks and said she respected men a lot.
