Of late, Vijays Thuppaki is garnering much attention, courtesy the poster image where he carries Kajal Agarwal. It reminds one a similar poster of Richar Geres English film. Now this has put a question in fans mind whether Thuppaki is based on that Hollywood film.
Clarifying on this, director AR Murugadoss said that it is not actually the case. Justifying about it in an interview, he said that Thuppaki doesnt have an army backdrop like Geres film; instead it is set in Mumbai. Besides that particular scene, everything in Thuppaki is original, confirms Murugadoss.
Talking about Vijays role in the film, Murugadoss further went saying that the actor features as a character who will be loved by all. He is quite spirited and energetic.
According to the filmmaker, its been quite long to see such an energetic and handsome hero in our Tamil cinema. So unlike normal heroes, Murugados added, here in Thuppaki Vijay is playing it very differently, by acting very bubbly, enthusiastic and excited. Usually female leads in my films will play such energetic characters, but in this movie, Vijay has taken upon himself to play a lively and hyper character. I feel that this will be Vijays best role so far in his career, remarked the director.
