Superstar Rajinikanth, an ardent devotee of Sri Raghavendra Swamy, has never missed an opportunity to pay regular and often secret pilgrimages to the holy town of Mantralayam. Even the 100th film of the actor was a bio-pic on the great saint, and Rajini had played the lead role in it.

Now, the Superstar has donated Rs 10 crore to the shrine of Sri Raghavendra. The amount will be used towards upgrading the infrastructure of the temple.

In a press statement, authorities of the temple said that the old buildings on the rear side of the Sarvagnya Mandir would be dismantled and 25 fresh A/C cottages and 100 general rooms would be constructed.

There are plans to set up a garden with the remaining funds, they said.
