Avunu, directed by Ravi Babu, has a back story. Know who inspired the director to make the film? Yami Gautham. When shooting with her for Nuvvila, Ravi happened to be unconsciously influenced by an incident narrated by his actress (Yami had an important role in the movie).

The day she narrated the incident, he could not sleep alone at the hotel room in Ramoji Film City. "I had been then in that hotel room alone for more than 50 nights and I had no problem. However, Yami's description of the incident scared the daylights out of me! I could never sleep alone from that night," he shares his scary experience.

Even as Ravi Babu is still yet to come out of that fear-inducing experience, he decided to make a film on that basis. Avunu is the manifestation of his desire to retell his near-traumatic experience.

The movie is set to release sometime later this month.
