In 1982, this megastar had almost touched the doorstep of death. B-town had nearly lost this iconic screen legend, had it not been for some good luck that saved him to see this day… Amitabh Bachchan of late has gone into recalling mode, where he goes back to the time when he met fatal accident during the shooting of ‘Coolie’, on 26th July 1982.

In his recent blog, Amitabh Bachchan expressed his desire to pen down his most ill-fated accident. He shared that 2nd August is his second birthday when he got his life back after the mishap. However he added to say that since so much has been said and written about this incident, it would be unethical to speak about it now.

While shooting a fight sequence with co-star Punit Issar for ‘Coolie’, Bachchan hit the corner of a table, seriously getting his abdomen injured in the process and rupturing his splenic. For several months the megastar was fighting a battle with death in hospital and had severe blood loss. Looking at his critical condition, the entire nation was said to be praying for his recovery.

Writing about it, Big B wrote further that he wants to “tabulate” the accident now, because he has been often encouraged by many to share the experience. Quoted the veteran star, "I talk too much of myself today. This is unlike me. I feel though, prompted by several others, that it was time for my experiences to be tabulated." However he said that he is not comfortable to talk about himself. “Autobiographical attempts have always drawn me away from the process. It's the constant use of the 'I' that is disturbing,” added Big B.

Incidentally, it is not known how the Shehenshah is going to put across his experience, whether through blog or a book.
