Devi Sri Prasad is going to debut in Bollywood through Apurva Lakhia's Zanjeer. This Ram Charan film has completed a schedule last month. The makers were not in a hurry to finalize a music director, as they were seriously considering DSP's name.

A busy man down South, Devi is said to be game to scoring music for the film. Bollywood is a larger canvas; besides, the film belongs to a genre in which many in the Hindi film industry have shown extraordinary grip in the past.

Zanjeer is a debut only in theory. Bollywood has tasted the magic of Dhinka Chika (Ready), and latest, Aa Ante Amalapuram (Maximum).

It is Cherry who recommended DSP's name to the makers. Zanjeer is the first straight Hindi film in a long time to feature a Southern hero and boast of a Telugu technician manning one of the most important departments.
