Jagapathi Babu is all set to debut in Kannada. He has signed on a Sandalwood film, which will see Sudeep (of Eega) as the main lead. Thus, it is another non-Telugu film for Babu, who was recently approached for a film starring Ajith.

Jagapathi is said to be playing a key role in the film, that of a crime investigator. The film is likely to go on the floors soon.

The actor is busy shooting for Thandavam, which is a bi-lingual directed by AL Vijay. He has also signed on April Fool, where he is sharing screen space with Bhumika Chawla.

It is difficult to say whether the actor would have accepted to do a Kannada movie had Sudeep been not his friend.
