The Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) on Tuesday made an announcement to withdraw its indefinite strike. Following this, workers resumed to sets today and shooting schedules, which came to a halt kick started again.
This sudden development which has brought cheer in the industry comes after Tamil Nadu Labour Minister Chellapandian held talks with office bearers of FEFSI and Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) in Chennai on Tuesday.
At the end of the talks, both parties agreed to settle differences by holding talks in an amicable way. Also, an announcement was made to withdraw the strike with immediate effect and to go ahead with shooting schedules, having in mind the common welfare of the industry.
Activities in Tamil film industry came to a sudden halt from last week, after a strike call was given by FEFSI. To counter this, producers were trying to start a separate union for workers.
