Ace music composer AR Rahman and his favourite filmmaker Mani Ratnam are back in Tamil cinema with what they are best at, an out and out romantic entertainer in the form of Kadal.
The duo recently met at the coastal areas of Tiruchendur (at the sets of Kadal) to talk about the films background music and tunes. Rahman flew down to Thuthukudi and from there left to the sets of Kadal and the duo reportedly had a long discussion about the film in the seas.
Everything about Kadal including the hero (Gautham) has been kept under the wraps and is closely guarded by Mani Ratnam. Two tracks have been composed; while one has lyrics penned by Madhan Karky the other has lyrics by Vairamuthu.
The film marks the debut of Gautham in Tamil cinema and has Samantha as the lead lady. Aravind Swamy will be back in front of the camera after a long hiatus through this project.
Mani who concentrated on pan Indian projects of late (read: bilingual Aayudha Ezhuthu, Guru in Hindi which was dubbed in Tamil Telugu, bilingual Raavanan) is back to an exclusive Tamil project after Kanathil Muthamittal through Kadal.
