Rumour mills are working overtime that Madhavan will reprise the role he did in the original for the Hindi remake of ‘Vettai’. Speaking to IndiaGlitz, Maddy clarifies, “It’s not yet confirmed whether or not I will be a part of it due to my injury, I have to go for treatment for at least another five months”!

Director Lingusamy, a Tamil commercial film specialist, is venturing into Bollywood with the remake of his 2012 Pongal offering ‘Vettai’ that saw Maddy, Arya, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul in the lead. Shahid Kapoor will be replacing Arya in the Hindi remake and the makers are keen on casting Maddy for the remake however due to the star’s treatment, we can’t be sure if he will be a part of the film or not.

Lingusamy has expressed that a formal announcement about the cast and crew of the remake will be made during the 50th day celebrations of the Tamil version.

Grapevine also has it that Deepika Padukone and Sonakshi Sinha are the frontrunners for the female leads of the remake. The film will go on floors come April.
