Silambarasan aka STR will be celebrating his 27th birthday today (February 3). The multi-faceted young talent is currently in the US with work on his first music album, Love Anthem For World Peace which will release shortly.

Although Simbu has faced the camera several times as a child artiste, he now completes ten years as a protagonist in feature films. He has also worked as a playback singer and a director.

2011 was a quite an eventful year for the talent with anthology 'Vaanam' striking a century in screens and 'Osthi' receiving a good opening.

This year, he has three very promising projects apart from the music album for which he is running from pillar to post. He has 'Podaa Podi' with debutant Vignesh Shivan. The film will see him and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar in three stages of life and is touted to be a dance musical.

Later this year he has 'Vettai Mannan' a gangster flick by debutant Nelson. Simbu will woo Deeksha Seth in this film whereas Hansika Motwani will be seen as a gangster girl. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the tunes and the teaser trailer opened to a good response among fans thanks to the slick content.

Simbu also has 'Vada Chennai' a film set in North Madras where he joins hands with National Award winning director Vetrimaaran.
